Peanut butter fondue is a fun and easy snack. It's also a fast yet fancy dessert for date night. It pairs well with apple slices, strawberries, and celery sticks. Original Skippy and Skippy Natural are both excellent for fondue purposes - my sorority sisters' minds were blown when I introduced them to melted Skippy. A decade later, though, I am much more OCD about eating organic. You can use any smooth peanut butter that contains added oil (for emulsification), including organic varieties. I use Wholefoods 365 Unsweetened (but not Unsalted) Organic Peanut Butter, which contains sea salt and organic expeller pressed palm oil in addition to dry roasted organic peanuts.
The fastest and easiest method simply involves putting some peanut butter in a microwavable bowl and nuking it for about 30 seconds seconds. Ta-da, fondue! However, if you're a radiationphobe like me, you can melt the peanut butter the way you would chocolate chips. The melted consistency will be similar to that of honey.
